January series at The Element
Wednesday was our first service of the new year at The Element. I am PUMPED about what GOD is going to do this year! Last night, we kicked off our January series Setting the Stage. We want to “set the stage” this month for God to do incredible things. I love the insight that Bradley, one of our students wrote about last night after service:
“Take a stand and make 2012 your year! You might say “well 2011 was supposed to be that year..”. Well, its a new year now. And a fresh start to go hard at it and do right. You might have done wrong last year, but there isn’t time for regrets and worrying about the past. God has so many different things for your life, but you will never know.. until you try and pursue a life with Christ. It may be hard to make a change. That’s life. But that’s why there is the church family and accountable people in your life.”
Here are a few of the main ideas and points from the message:
Key thought: Set the stage for GOD to do AMAZING things in and through you life this year.
God specializes in clean slates and comeback stories. Do you need one of those in 2012? Or do you just have a hunger and desire to make 2012 the best year yet? To go further, to grow, to see God move in ways you haven’t seen yet? Which ever scenario you are looking for in 2012, where you start is the same: Set the stage for God to work in your life.
Don’t spend 2012 trying correct or make up for 2011. Get the right pieces in the right place in your life in 2012 and watch incredible things come of it.
Here are 4 ways to can set the stage in 2012 to allow God to do incredible things:
1. Make 2012 a Year of Hitting your Knees

2. Make 2012 a Year Where the Word leaps off the page

3. Make 2012 a Year of Pen, Paper, and Faith
(Journal)
4. Make 2012 a Year of Shifting the Spotlight
(Worship)
Make a personal commitment to all of these – not as religious routine, but as loving discovery of the Father.
